It is a new concept of sustainable architecture that combines energy efficiency and life cycle, from a reused shipping container structure, a thick insulating enclosure and various systems of renewable energy production, is achieved not only an architecture that minimizes the CO2 emissions over its lifetime, providing maximum energy certification A, but minimizes the energy and waste generated for its construction and subsequent removal, closing the life cycle from creation to destruction.
Energy efficiency is based on building energy balance, suported on the following principle “The best energy is the one that not consumed”, it is proposed a thick thermal envelope, which together with a greenroof reduces energy losses and minimizes radiation outdoors, the ventilation system through a buried geothermal collector provides up to 10 º C temperature drop without energy expenditure, implemented by a natural cross ventilation to ensure comfortable conditions. The lighting is solved with low power sources and systems of production through photovoltaic and small wind turbines. Water management is another important aspect with the recycling of rainwater for irrigation and gray water collection for use in tanks.
The life cycle goes beyond the concept of recycling with two proposed lines: the reuse of materials that have outlived their usefulness, such as shipping containers, OSB wood panels, retreaded floors, etc.. connected to another working line with products whose manufacturing processes are non-polluting, natural mineral wool, etc.. all with the maximum recycling guarantee.
