Mijas Park is set around the Fuengirola river which is composed of the union of Ojen river with Alaminos river or de Las Posadas river, forming a river network that is the second largest within the so-called western Costa del Sol basins.
The Fuengirola river has a sporadic regime, but with peaceful stretchs and it consists of Quaternary alluvial and colluvial deposits materials. The landscape through which the river is very soft.
As for existing uses throughout the area, especially on the left edge, a predominance of both legal and illegal urban uses (residential, golf courses, industrial) at the end of the stretch, from the A-7 to the estuary. However in the existing northern section AP-7 are still some agricultural areas with tree crops and orchards.
Because of the predominance of urban uses cited the landscape has trivialized and deteriorated largely to accrue further by the illegal and chaotic for many of them as with residential subdivisions and the industrial area of La Vega character.
